Registered patient Urgent Walk-in Service
We offer an urgent walk-in service for our registered patients between 9.00am to 4.00pm on a Monday and 8.30am to 4.00pm Tuesday through Friday. Please note that this service is subject to staff availability and if we reach capacity we may close earlier. This service is for urgent needs only.
If you are triaged by a Nurse and informed that you do not need to see a GP please respect their clinical decision.
Please inform the reception staff of the reason for your visit so you can be triaged according to urgency by our nursing team. If your need is not urgent the reception team will book you an appointment for another day.
If you have any cold/flu symptoms you may be required to do a RAT test as part of the triage process. You may also be required to wear a mask.
If you are unable to attend the walk-in clinic and would still like to talk to a clinician please let our admin team know when you phone in so they can provide some options.
Urgent Walk-in service fees
When you present for our urgent walk-in service you will be triaged by a Nurse and assessed to determine if you need to see a GP or not. If you only see a Nurse the fee will be a standard Nurse consult fee plus a $5 surcharge.
If you also need to be seen by a GP you will be charged a GP consult fee only (this may be a general medical fee or an ACC fee) plus a $5 surcharge.
Children under 14 years of age will still be free of charge.
Please note that as this is an urgent care service, patients will be seen in order of priority and not in the order they arrive. The team will do their best to keep patients notified of possible wait times.

Cambridge Medical Centre was established in the 1970’s by Dr Paul Stephens and Dr Ian McCullough as a small family business. Over the last 40 years the clinic has grown along side the Cambridge community and is now situated on a multi-functional site that also incorporates Pathology, Pharmacy and Medical Imaging services
Our modern centre is uniquely placed to provide its enrolled patients, visitors and newly relocated people to the Cambridge community, with a comprehensive and service focused experience.
At Cambridge Medical Centre we offer a range of general medical and urgent care services, along with minor surgery and specialist nurse clinics.

Want to Enrol at Cambridge Medical Centre?
To register with our practice you need to complete an enrolment form. Once you have completed the enrolment form we will request your medical history from your previous doctor with your permission and you will be asked to sign a form for this.
